Life Advice From Matt Painter: Thinks Anyone Who Wants Fletcher Loyer Benched Is An Idiot, Suggests You Cut Off Relationships With Them

I know it's Evansville, but still this is what good teams should do. You beat the hell out of a bad team, figure some stuff out, stay healthy and move onto game 2. But, more importantly it was Fletcher Loyer. Dude went for 30, he's been part of this talk from a small group of fans that he's not good enough. That Purdue needs to find someone else for Loyer because he shrinks at times, random other excuses.

Well, Matt Painter gave a little life advice:

I love it. A coach should have their guys back and not be afraid to piss people off. He's on a good run at the mic too, considering we heard him talk about Centel:

I find Painter hilarious because he's a basketball lifer who has seen it all. So why not call some people idiots? In fact I think Painter should do a little life advice after every game. Give some pointers on who to stop hanging out with, who shouldn't be benched and things of that nature. It's not exactly a secret that there are weaknesses to Loyer's game. We've seen it show up, like in the title game against UConn. But, there's something about having a backcourt that has been together for years and have won all these games. You don't just move on from that because some people are a little pissy.

I don't think this will be the last time Painter talks about people wanting Loyer benched. This feels like a year where he defends him a lot in press conferences because it's senior year and people will be restless. Not very smart, don't hang out with them though.
